Teenager Program in Munich, Germany (12 -17 years of age)

  Germany
  • Munich:
  • Munich (Munchen)

Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Jun 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27, Aug 3 2009

Description: Located in the center of Holzkirchen at the central market place, our small school is housed in a well kept two storied building next to a bakery and a popular cafe. It has 7 nicely decorated classrooms, reception and social lounge.

The lessons are a good balance between conversation, grammar, and reading, listening and writing. Although this is an academic program, the emphasis is very much on the pleasure and benefits of learning a language, so that you return home positively motivated and eager to improve, thus making the following academic year a more effective time.

All our teachers are local native German teachers, many of them have lived and taught German abroad and also speak several other languages, therefore relating easily to different cultures.

Host Family: (private room) with 3 meals daily.
This is a very popular option and choosing to live with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the german language and culture. All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained.

Our host families allow students access to all living areas in the house and in many cases; students will be expected to share the bathroom. All bed linens and pillows will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels.

Your family does not provide a laundry service, however in most cases they will allow you to use the laundry facilities for a small additional charge.

The family provides 3 meals daily, with a packed lunch that is usually eaten with the other students and teachers at the school. On Wednesdays, everyone joins in a picnic lunch during the excursion. The families are normally located between 10-20 minutes travelling distance (normally by local public transit) from the school and town center.

Highlights: Our Bavarian Summer School is located to the north of the Bavarian Alps on the River Isar, in Holzkirchen, a traditional Bavarian town just 20 minutes south of Munich. The stunning Alps, green hills, flowered cottages and famous Lake Tegernsee are all close by.

This program has been designed for students who would like to learn a language but also enjoy a schedule of activities. The program allows the student to mix with other international students from around the world and local students, of the same age.
