The teaching course "From Script to Screen", can be taken in full (19 days), in part (15 days) or as an introductory course (10 days) or participants can choose their own days and make up their own course. Participants can "Make a Film" as they learn under expert supervision using the latest digital equipment. Held over 4 weekends and 6 evenings to accommodate people working or studying, these hands-on courses also teach Final Cut Pro editing software and participants can take home a copy of their short film or mini doc on DVD for entry into festivals. New this year is "Digital Cinematography", part of the four day "Cinematography Intensive" and to encourage new writers there's a discounted "Writer's Block" taught by some of our leading screenwriters. The 5 day "Steadicam Intensive", the only one in the southern hemisphere, is for experienced camera operators and is a fully accredited Steadicam Operators course. Inexpensive accommodation is available on campus at Trinity and St Mary's Colleges. Daily sessions or full courses are available. Open to beginners of all ages. More exciting than a film festival, more real than film itself, you will begin to understand the enormous skill and energy that goes into that smoothly finished product on the screen. Open to aspiring filmmakers of any age, the Filmmaking Summer School is a wonderful activity for a summer "down under" with all the pleasures of filmmaking, life on campus and meeting people from all over the world with a passion for storytelling through film.
