Description: The small size of our General English classes is the secret to much of our students continuing success, as the teaching can more easily be tailored to suit the needs of most students.

Most General English students at CIE take 3 hours (four 45-minute lessons) of group classes each morning from 9:15 am until 12:30 pm.

During the academic year, our General English classes comprise no more than 8 students.

In your morning lessons, you will concentrate on speaking, listening, grammar, reading, and writing in English.

If you like, you can choose to continue your general English group studies in a 90-minute double lesson in the afternoons. These lessons tend to focus more on speaking and listening skills.

Highlights: * Study in Small, Focused Groups
During the academic year, our classes have a maximum of either 4 or 8 students often half the size of groups at most other schools. Your skills will improve quickly in our small classes.

* Study in The City Centre

CIE's Bocardo House is in the centre of Oxford, opposite the world-famous Oxford Union. Our busy summer school is also held in city centre facilities, such as Oxford University's Lady Margaret Hall, near the University Parks.

* Study with Personal Support

CIE's close family atmosphere throughout the academic year helps to make intensive study easier and much more pleasant. From our reception staff, to our teachers, to our principal, everyone will know your name. Long-term students are assigned a personal tutor to monitor your progress and answer any questions you may have.
