Description: Welcome to Heredia, Costa Rica!

You will be met at the airport and taken to your welcoming host family in a small rural town just 20 minutes outside of the capitol of San Jose. Begin your day with a trip to a waterfall, a volunteer activity or a lesson in Costa Rican cooking, then spend your afternoons attending Spanish classes at a local high school. With no more than ten students in your class, you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and converse. Return home to share your new conversation skills over dinner with your Costa Rican host family!

Weekends are reserved for overnight excursions. The fiery Arenal Volcano, the beautiful white sand beach of Isla Tortuga, and the Punta Leona rain forest are just a few of the options. All excursions and activities are led by experienced chaperones, who also escort you to and from your homestay each day.

Andeo-International Homestays's Mission Statement: Andeo-International Homestays is a non-profit organization specializing in short-term homestay programs since 1981. We design programs for students, teachers and families who are excited about developing friendships that span the globe. We work with carefully selected foreign organizations that are experienced and respected in the areas of homestays and exchange programs. Together, we coordinate all of the elements essential to a successful homestay: careful selection and matching, preparation, support and follow-up. We offer summer immersion homestay programs for high school students in Spain, France, Mexico, and Germany. We also offer programs that combine a homestay with classes, volunteer opportunities and activities in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, France, Germany and Japan.
