Description:
Our pioneer program on Western Civilization is designed for serious, motivated and adventurous students in grades 9-12, who are eager to learn first hand about the origins and evolution of Western thought, culture and art. The program follows the path of Western Civilization from Ancient Greeks to Ancient Romans, continuing to the Middle Ages, Renaissance and, finally, to the Enlightenment. Abbey Road staff and students will spend one week in each city, staying together in hotels and hostels.

Language, Culture, Travel, Recreation and Fun: * Travel and study in three of Europe's most beautiful countries * Read and discuss key authors from each historical era * Explore important monuments and museums * Recreation like tennis, soccer, swimming and biking * Great shopping, cafes and restaurants * Outdoor nightlife * Nighttime activities like movies and concerts * Beach excursions * Excursions to Delphi, Siena, San Gimignano, Pompeii, Versailles
