Description: Our Biarritz partner school is located in a lovely neighborhood 15 to 20 minutes from the beaches and town centre. The program offers an ideal mix of French lessons and French culture, including exposure to cuisine, history and art as well as fashion and cinema. It also offers the unique opportunity to meet and make friends with students from all over Europe, Latin America and Asia, making this a very popular program for students who are looking for a truly international experience. And to top it off, Biarritz's beach setting allows you to try your hand at optional water sports including sea kayaking and surfing*!

Depending on how intensive you want to make your studies, you can choose from 15 or 20 lessons per week with all options offering sports and cultural activities as well as full and half-day excursions to a variety of places of interest such as San Sabastian, Arcachon and Dune du Pila. Optional activities and excursions are also available.

*Surfing lessons are available: 5 x 2 hour lessons per week; includes 90 mins. water time each lesson (please see our price list for estimated costs).

Accommodation is homestay-based, enabling you to practise the language constantly and explore the culture of France in a comfortable and friendly setting. Homestay rooms are shared and half board (breakfast and dinner) meals are included in the price (full board is optional). Homestay families generally live 5 to 30 minutes from the school and give students a wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves within the culture of Biarritz while improving their conversational French.

The teachers are all native French speakers and teach in the local high schools during the school year. They bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom and design each lesson to focus on speaking and listening skills with appropriate attention paid to reading and writing.

Please note:
The supervision level for this program is Medium. This program is intended for teens 12-18 who are comfortable with a small degree of independence. School staff accompanies students during class time or on school-organized activities. Students will make their own way to and from their homestay accommodation and they will have some free time to explore Biarritz with friends. There is a daily curfew, which the homestay family will enforce. If students are not behaving in a manner considered acceptable for their age it could result in expulsion from the program without refund.
