Intercultura's Summer Spanish and Adventure Camp for Teens
Costa Rica
- North Western Region:
Heredia,
Samara
Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: July 25 - August 9 (session is two weeks long)
Description:
Tired of doing the same thing every summer? Why not visit a tropical paradise and learn a new language - we invite you to immerse yourself in the Costa Rican culture and learn Spanish! Intercultura Teen Spanish & Adventure Camp takes place from July 25 to August 9, in a 2-week session combining beach and city stays. From Monday to Friday, teens take 3.5 hours of Spanish classes per day with our fully credentialed teachers, who teach adolescents in a fun, communicative, and real-life context. In the remaining half of the day, teens engage in activities such as surf classes, coffee plantation tour, horseback-riding, San Jose City visit, community service activities, ecological hikes, cave exploration, canopy zip-line tours, Latin dance, and more. Weekend excursions provide a mix of guided tour activities and free time to shop, eat, and meet & mingle with the locals. Students may enroll in one or more sessions. Each session includes: airport pick-up and drop-off, chaperones and guides, Spanish classes, lodging, meals, activities, and tours.
Highlights:
Intercultura is located in the colonial city of Heredia, approximately 20 minutes by bus from the capital city of San Jose. Its central location within the city gives students easy access to transportation, shops and entertainment. At the same time, the tranquility and natural beauty of the mountains is only a few minutes away by taxi or bus. In the downtown area students are usually no more than a 5 minute walk from a variety of services, including: sports center and olympic-size swimming pool, Internet cafes, gyms, shops, restaurants, discotheques, the National University's theatre and grounds, clinics, and travel agencies. The school offers free internet, kitchens, dance studio, and refreshing courtyards for socializing between classes. In addition to its Heredia campus, Intercultura offers classes at its beachfront campus in Samara, Guanacaste. The beach is 5km long, lined with palm trees, and enjoys a calm, clear water ocean in a protected coral reef bay. You can swim, dive, snorkel, kayak and surf/ boogie board. Offshore, an island with a deserted beach is accessible by kayak or boat. Classes are held in our custom-built campus right on the beach, close to the town center and services. It offers tropical gardens leading to the sand, ranchos, hammocks, social areas, dance stage, free internet, TV lounge, kitchen, and study rooms.
