Summer Teen Homestay Program in Montreal, Canada
Canada
Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: June 26 to August 21, 2010
Description:
Set on an island in the St. Lawrence River, Montreal is a city where French and English cultures meet and mingle. It has an extremely attractive city centre, ideal for walking, featuring the largest number of 17-19th century buildings in North America. The summer course for teens is held at a dedicated summer campus in central Montreal, close to shops, cafes, and many places of interest. The campus offers bright, air-conditioned classrooms as well as sports facilities and a cafeteria. Course: The program offers a perfect blend of French immersion lessons with a rich and varied afternoon leisure program that includes sports and cultural activities as well as excursions to many fascinating places of interest in and around Montreal. If you are staying in a Homestay you can join optional evening and weekend activities or spend time getting to know your French host family. If you are staying in the Residence you are automatically enrolled in the evening and weekend activities, giving you a great change to experience, first hand, the wonderfully unique Quebec culture! View our sample schedule for more information. Accommodation: * Homestay (recommended for students 15 and over) Accommodation is a single room in a homestay and includes 3 meals per day. The family may host other students from the same program but the school will ensure that there is a good cultural mix of students in the house. You will be provided with a metro pass upon arrival at the school. * Residence (recommended for students 13 and over) Accommodation is in double** or single rooms and includes 3 meals per day as well as evening and weekend activities and excursions (participation is mandatory for residence students). For general information about what to expect in residence accommodation visit our Residence Q & A page. ** Double room accommodation is only available for friends who would like to stay together; individual travellers must book a single room.
