The Spanish Literature Program for High School Students in CEELE-accredited Schools is organized by Eduespaña and sponsored by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C. The goals of the Spanish Literature Program are to help U.S. high school students aged 15-19 improve their Spanish language skills and their knowledge of Spanish literature, in preparation for the exams. For the Spanish Literature Program, an advanced level of Spanish is required. The program consists of 60 class hours over three weeks. Class size is limited to 12 students. Students practice taking AP exams. Active class participation is encouraged, so that all students can improve their oral communication skills.
Highlights:
The Spanish Literature Program for High School Students will take place July 5-25. Each course consists of sixty class hours over a three-week period. Classes are complemented by at least six extracurricular activities and two daytrips. Full room and board with a Spanish host family is included. The Spanish Literature Program is held only in Madrid. Each participating student will receive a partial scholarship from the Embassy of Spain. Teacher chaperons will share in this cultural and educational adventure, receiving free room and board and participating in the students' extracurricular activities and daytrips as they like. Chaperons can even qualify for travel stipends.
