Description:
The most French city in North America, Quebec is a must-see for any Francophile. This beautiful city is located along the banks of the Saint Lawrence River and is the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec. Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec), the only fortified city on the continent north of Mexico whose walls are still intact, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Whether enjoying fine dining along the rue St. Jean, shopping at the Marche Vieux Port or strolling along the ramparts, students will be immersed in one of the most fascinating francophone cultures in the world. The academic component of the Quebec program includes two primary subjects: French language and Francophone culture in North America.
Highlights:
Weekend Excursions The students will spend their weekends exploring the region in all its splendor. Destinations will include Cap Tourmente, Ile d'Orleans, and Levis just to name a few. Montreal- Optional Travel Extension During the final week of the program, those who have signed up for the optional travel extension will travel together to Montreal for three days. The group will stay in a 3-star hotel located within walking distance of many beautiful sites and monuments. The itinerary may include visits to the Musee de Beaux Arts de Montreal and the Musee D'Archeologie. Students will also enjoy Vieux Montreal and the Quartier Latin.
