Description: Intrax Study Abroad: Explore Costa Rica!

The Summer Cultural Exploration program in Alajuela, Costa Rica provides students with the opportunity to study Spanish in a stunning natural environment, while integrating into the unique culture of Costa Rica. Students will attend language classes, experience Costa Rican culture through organized activities and explore the country on guided excursions. Participants will live with a host family.

For those students looking for a true outdoor cultural adventure, then Costa Rica is the right destination. Despite its relatively small size, Costa Rica boasts some of the most diverse habitats on the planet. Ranging from rainforests to stunning beaches, cloud forests to mangrove swamps, Costa Rica is an ecological treasure with a dazzling array of exotic animals, waterfalls and volcanoes. Ticos, as Costa Ricans call themselves, are a warm and friendly people.

Program Requirements:

*No language requirement.
*15-18 years old.
*Motivated students with a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4 point scale.
*Mature, flexible, open-minded, and able to adapt to living with a host family. *Eager for the academic challenge of studying in a foreign school.
*US Citizen/Resident- living in the US.

Highlights: On our 4 week Summer Exploration High School Program you'll live with a host family, attend language classes in the morning, enjoy activities in the afternoon, and explore Costa Rica through fun weekend excursions like white water rafting, ropes tours, overnights in rustic bungalows and more!. No previous language experience is required but a sense of adventure is!

Scholarships are Available. - Intrax Study Abroad offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees. Youth Leader Scholarship Awards of $200 to $1,000 are granted to high school study abroad applicants on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular involvement and financial need. Preference will be given to students who are involved in community service and have demonstrated their commitment to studying abroad by raising funds to help cover their high school study abroad program fees.
