With life in Spain, you are learning something new each day. For academic year programs, students will attend a local high school where your school work will vary by subject from day to day. The classes are challenging and students are often expected to study outside the classroom. All students are required to take certain core courses, which generally include: Spanish language, Spanish literature, foreign language, philosophy, and physical education. Additionally, students may choose one optional area of study to broaden their curriculum including: arts, science or technology.

Students who choose an academic year program in Spain will live with a host family and attend a local high school.

Learn:

Academic Year programs require two years of high school Spanish language study or the demonstrated equivalent, as all classes will be conducted in Spanish. Students tell us that the exposure to Spanish in the classroom and in their daily life helped them to master and become fluent in their foreign language skills.

Program Requirements:

*2 years of Spanish language study required.
*15-18 years old.
*Motivated students with a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4 point scale.
*Mature, flexible, open-minded, and able to adapt to living with a host family.
*Eager for the academic challenge of studying in a foreign school.
*US Citizen/Resident- living in the US.

Scholarships are Available. - Intrax Study Abroad offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees. Youth Leader Scholarship Awards of $200 to $1,000 are granted to high school study abroad applicants on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular involvement and financial need. Preference will be given to students who are involved in community service and have demonstrated their commitment to studying abroad by raising funds to help cover their high school study abroad program fees. Scholarship Deadline: March 1, 2007
