Description:
Our programs offer a full schedule of language lessons, sports, leisure and cultural activities and are open to individuals and groups. Programs are designed to introduce young students who enrol through Teenagers Abroad to another culture and to encourage them to make friends with other students from around the world. > Teenagers Abroad specializes in sending young people between the ages of 10 - 18 to exciting places and programs around the world. > All our programs , schools, camps and international partners are carefully selected and are situated in safe and interesting locations for young people of varying nationalities. > Our programs offer a full schedule of language lessons, sports, leisure and cultural activities and are open to individuals and groups. After Classes Once language classes are over for the day, we offer a range of activities and sports to keep students interested, involved and very busy! The camp activities coordinators schedule activities to ensure that the students learn and participate in as many sports activities, workshops and recreational activities as possible, while they meet people, pursue personal interests and have fun. The activities are always appropriate for each age level and students will be encouraged to practice their language skills as much as possible. Sports Activities may be of an individual, group or team nature. Team sports at many of our residential programs include basketball, baseball, soccer, water polo, volleyball, aerobics and mini-Olympics. Individual sports include swimming, archery, badminton, frisbee, tennis and more. The activities include contests and treasure hunts, theme nights, (costumed, talent show, cultural themes) traditional camp games, discos on site, informal gatherings to watch or perform music or even perform theatre and skits in the local language! A few of the programs offer additional sports lessons such as horseback riding, golf or tennis, for an additional fee. Cultural Workshops are offered by many of the schools in the time outside the classroom. These workshops can include dancing class (such as learning basic salsa, meringue and flamenco steps), cooking class where students learn to prepare typical local dishes, art classes where students will draw, paint and create paper collages. Excursions Volunteering Opportunities are available at a few of our camps where participants can get involved with the local community. The projects include working with underprivileged school children in Costa Rica or working to rehabilitate ecologically fragile areas in Mexico. These activities are supervised by the school staff and are a great way for the students to interact with the locals and are an opportunity to practice the language, as well. Excursions are offered at all of our programs and normally include a include one all-day and some half-day excursions are offered during each two-week period. Trips are fully escorted and are to areas of cultural, environmental or historical interest and of course vary a great deal, depending on the camp location. Excursions could include guided visits to museums, galleries and monuments of interest, travelling to an active volcano, hiking in national parks, cloud or rain forest treks, snorkelling expeditions etc. All transportation and meals are included in the registration fee, yet some longer excursions are available for a fee, at a few of our schools.
