Description: A beautiful academic campus located in central Shanghai. The campus is quiet and tasteful, with a full range of teaching and learning facilities. Our primary location for language lessons is a 70-year old traditional style house surrounded by green trees.

Standard summer program: (30 lessons per week).
Class size: max of 10 students per class.

Each student will take a short placement test on the first Monday morning of the course (unless the student is a complete beginner) to determine the student's language level and ensure placement in the correct class. Lessons are usually held in the mornings, from Monday - Friday. Each lesson is normally 50 minutes in duration.

All language levels are catered to. Lessons are a good balance of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. However, the emphasis is on conversation and the pleasure and benefits of learning Mandarin and speaking the language with confidence.

Accommodation in shanghai will be in a pleasant and good quality 3 star hotel, within 15 minutes walking distance from the campus.

Students will room with one or two others (two to three students share a washroom). Rooms are furnished with IDD & DDD, closed-circuit color TV system, stereo system, central air-conditioning system, automatic fire fighting and alarm system, and other modern facilities, all rooms have windows.

Highlights: Shanghai is probably the most evocative city for an outsider in the whole of China. Beijing may be more purely, mysteriously Chinese but only Shanghai offers such a heady brew of half-digested images and preconceptions.

For the second city of the world's oldest surviving ancient civilization, Shanghai is surprisingly new. Literally 'On the Sea', Shanghai is a port city on the Huangpu River, where the Yangzi River empties into the East China Sea.
