Come join GLA in India for an unforgettable experience. Immerse yourself in traditional Indian culture while living in the hills surrounded by rural villages. Located near the town of Pune, three hours away from Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the campus is a jewel in the landscape of rural India. Come and experience India from the inside. Students will volunteer with community-based projects in the small villages outside of Pune. In the evenings and weekends, we will learn about Indian culture, visit places of cultural signficance, and have workshops to learn traditional Indian dance, music and arts.

Volunteering in India offers real insight to global issues; the creativity, strength, and dedication of the local people you work with will truly inspire you. * Learning India can be studied for years and still offer more to the intellectually curious traveler. Learn about creating positive change from inspirational leaders. Immerse yourself in the culture by learning Hindi phrases, traditional music and dance, and how to cook the local cuisine. * Exploration Discover the richness and diversity of India first hand. Visit the ancient Ajanta caves, hike through the Western Ghats mountain range and take in a Bollywood film in the city of Pune. You'll also have a chance to buy Indian clothes and beautiful handicrafts. * Campus Located outside the city of Pune, three hours away from Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the GLA campus is perched atop a mountain. The campus is an architectural jewel and is contains a massive bio-diversity reserve where you can go hiking and view local flora and fauna.

Cost Include Description:
GLA programs are all-inclusive, except for airfare. We provide students housing, transportation, three full meals a day, health and travel insurance, as well as entrance fees to most main attractions.
