Description: Famous for its film festival, cinema, food, beaches and nightlife, Cannes is located 30 km from Nice on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Teeming with elegant boutiques and stylish cafes the old town is a wonderful reminder that Cannes has a long and rich history and is considered to be the cultural birthplace of the Cote d'Azur.   The picturesque old port is a multicultural hub where modest fishing boats sit side-by-side with the magnificent yachts and "floating palaces" of Europe's rich and famous. The lively "La Croisette", a beach-side promenade that stretches for miles, is also a favorite place to people watch for locals and tourists alike.

The "Le Cimen" course centre in Cannes is located an easy 15 minutes from the town centre and only 20 minutes from beautiful sandy beaches. Built at the end of the 19th century, the two beautiful buildings that make up the course centre are brimming with all the charm of Cannes. Surrounded by a magnificent 2 hectare private park, the campus offers classrooms, a self-service restaurant, a projection room, sports grounds and residence rooms with 2, 3 and 4 beds.

The aim of the Cannes Residential Program for Teens is to spark your interest in learning French and to deepen any prior knowledge you may already have. To achieve this goal, the atmosphere at the course centre and in the classroom is youthful and dynamic, with subjects and teaching methods that are age-appropriate and truly motivating. Particular emphasis is put on developing communication fluency and self-confidence. The various areas of language study, such as reading, writing, speaking and listening are all covered and grammar is studied in such a way that you learn without feeling that you are studying in a formal manner. You may also choose to further your experience in Cannes with a choice between two optional courses, either one-on-one private lessons, or conversational lessons. Please see our prices page fees.

Private lessons comprise of an additional five 45 minute lessons per week. The lessons are based on your individual needs and goals. With the aid of a detailed questionnaire completed at the start of the course, instructors will modify the lessons to address your specific needs with the French language.

Conversational courses give students the opportunity to express themselves in a more fluent and confident natural manner within everyday situations. This course consists of two 45 minute lessons per week.

Optional Sports:

While in Cannes you may want to explore the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and there's no better way to do this than underwater! If you have never tried SCUBA diving you can enrol in the "Discover SCUBA Diving" course, which offers three afternoons of instruction per week, including dry land training and two supervised dives in shallow water dives. For more experienced divers you may want to enrol in the "SCUBA Diver" course, whihc offers 6 afternoons of instruction including two shallow water dives from the beach and two sea dives. At the end of the course, you'll be awarded an internationally recognized dive certificate. See our price list for fees.

Teachers:

The teaching staff are fully-qualified young and dynamic native speakers. They set out to create a relaxed, amusing and motivating atmosphere with lesson themes that you can relate to. During extra-curricular activities, you will be strongly encouraged to use French so you can get used to thinking in the language!

Accommodation:

You will stay in double, triple or quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms located on the same campus as the classrooms and dining hall. The school will make every effort to ensure that there is a good mix of nationalities in each room, adding to the truly international flavor of the program.
