Description:
Teen German Summer Program - From 12 to 16 years of age! Spend the summer learning German in Aschaffenburg, Germany. The 1,000-year old city of Aschaffenburg (population 65,000) lies in convenient distance to Frankfurt airport and is bordered on the east by the Spessart mountains, one of Central Europe's largest continuous forested regions. The city itself with its historical monuments like the castle of Johannisburg abounds with parks and green spaces as well as it offers a wide variety of cultural life. All around the year Aschaffenburg presents a colorful range of fun-filled festivals. The vibrant city offers many leisure activities such as boat trips on the river Main or a visit of the largest permanent display of racing and sports cars. With its various galleries and museums Aschaffenburg has rich collections of national art and findings from prehistoric and Roman times. It's an everyday school routine on one hand, and vacation courses in a foreign country on the other: two very different learning situations that require totally different approaches. This hearing, seeing and speaking within a playful, creative context form the core of every "did" course. No matter what students find on their schedule, they can be sure it has a practical real-life application. Very popular among the participants are role plays in which a variety of every day situations can be acted out in a realistic way. Entertaining language learning games make it easy for young students to increase their knowledge. A combination of German language instruction, sports activities and class trips helps ensure that even the youngest participants soon begin to feel at home. What is more, friendships develop quickly in the stress free atmosphere in which students form international ties that often last a lifetime. Activities: Aschaffenburg offers a wide variety of leisure-time activities, sports and sightseeing. The activities sports and visits take place during four afternoons per week. On Saturdays full-day excursions take place to destinations like Frankfurt and the Rhine Valley or Freiburg and Strasbourg. All activities are supervised by the school staff.
