Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks

Description: This 3-Week Language and Cultural adventure is also a once in a lifetime experience to help make a difference in the lives of homeless children who live in cars, along the waters edges in tents, and other poverty stricken areas of Hawai'i. Teens will be able to choose their camp buddy to spend two weeks with implementing the camp activities. This camp features a sleep over camp and a day camp for the teens and camp buddies to bond and learn life skills while learning about each others culture. The teens will earn 180 community service hours for this tour.

During this two weeks of summer camp activities, teens will also be attending ESL training classes and workshops from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This will allow the teen to practice English and better their skills to take the TOFEL. Our ESL instructors will work one-on-one as well as in groups. Teens from abroad will also be able to pair up with an American teen during the summer camp activities.

During the tour, teens will also participate in authentic Hawaiian Cultural events, including the Hawaiian Luau, Fire Dancings, Coconut Tree Climbing, Lei Making, Hula, and other great aspects of Hawai'i. Teens will also visit local museums, historical sites, and cultural events. This year Project Hawaii will be adding more cultural experiences with more local Hawaiian people to learn how to make authentic Hula skirts, pound poi, learn how to play Hawaiian local style music from celebrity bands such as HI Town who just released their new CD for the Hoku Awards, and so much more

The fun is only the beginning when each teen will learn to surf from Hawaiian Pro Surfers, the one's you see on TV, take an adventure aboard a snorkel cruise ship, and see the beauty from above while soaring high in the sky on a zip line. On Big Island, teens will hike the volcanoes and swim under the waterfalls and travel through the lush tropical jungles.

Making friendships that will last a lifetime, teens will meet others from all over the USA, and abroad.

Making footsteps in the Hawaiian sands worth following...changing the future today.
