Cultural Immersion is NOT a High School or University. Instead we are a private College that offers: 1. Study Tours to South Australia 2. English Tuition 3. English Proficiency Courses 4. Accredited Training Our qualified staff can design a Study Tour itinerary for your school group. Each Study Tour Program can contain any of the components listed below: * Learning English These are designed for students between the ages of 8 and 17 years. It combines intensive English language classes that cover the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our classes aim to improve communication skills in spoken and written English. We place great importance on students speaking English in the classroom. * Australian Culture & Daily Living Skills Students learn about the Australian culture, social etiquette, accessing shops, public transport, pharmacies, medical and emergency services and interpreting services. Students are also taught money handling skills. Students have the option of undertaking a more intensive Australian Cultural Immersion Program that focuses on Australian English, Australian Slang & Conversational English and Daily Living Skills. This is especially important for pre-University students that will be living and studying in Australia. * Teaching Style Classes are enjoyable, participative and inclusive of all students. All worksheets and workbooks are provided and are interesting and stimulating. Regular review tests are built into the syllabus to measure students progress. Our teachers enjoy teaching and have a genuine interest in seeing each student develop and learn. * Activities Activities outside of the classroom are lively, interesting and interactive. These include sports, a great variety of excursions, tours of South Australian Universities and Colleges (such as Adelaide University, University of South Australia, Flinders University and TAFE) and visits to places of cultural interest. * School Integration Students can be integrated into a South Australian school. Our Integrating Schools Program provides the student group with the opportunity to either tour a school or to be integrated into a mainstream school as part of the Study Tour Program. We can also teach Intensive English and Communication Skills to a group before they are scheduled to be integrated into their host school. This ensures that their English is at a standard where they are better able to integrate into mainstream classes. * Homestay or Host Family Residency During the study tour students under the age of 18 years will reside with a Host Family. Students will receive their own bedroom, breakfast, a cut-lunch, evening meal, use of house amenities, assistance with transport and some weekend activities with the host family. All host parents must undergo a Police Clearance to ensure each student is placed in a safe environment. Study In Adelaide, South Australia (CRICOS Courses) In late-2008 Cultural Immersion Pty Ltd will obtain CRICOS accreditation. This means that we can teach full time CRICOS approved courses to students coming to Adelaide on a student visa.
