Description: Developing World Connections volunteers choosing to have a meaningful adventure in Cambodia will work towards sustainable development side by side with local Cambodians in the rural area of Kep. After 30 years of violence and oppression under the Khmer Rouge regime, Cambodians are making a valiant attempt to rebuild their communities and livelihoods and to create the foundation for a civil society. In collaboration with Bridges Across Borders Cambodia, volunteers will support locally driven projects that involve food security, resource conservation, literacy and vocational training.

Meaningful Adventure - Volunteer in Cambodia

Highlights: Volunteers benefit from working in a group, which offers the sense of team work and group accomplishment. Volunteers work with and alongside locals. By working together, one benefits from a real sense of global citizenship and solidarity. All experiences are led by an experienced team leader who helps facilitate the experience. Volunteers benefit from the lasting friendships developed and from the life changing impact of such a unique and meaningful experience. Participants may choose to spend time afterwards exploring some of the most beautiful scenery, exotic sites and rich cultural heritage of Cambodia.

Developing World Connections's Mission Statement: Our Mission: To contribute to the betterment of our global community by providing service to people in developing nations. Our Philosophy: Developing World Connections strongly believes that great learning comes as a result of working with people from all nations. It is not our purpose to change the culture of our host country, but rather to embrace and better understand the differences that give equal value to each society. Our volunteers are guests who respect the host country's culture and honour the goodwill extended to them during their visit. We believe the footprint we leave behind should be gentle, the friendships great, and the memories we bring home should positively and profoundly impact our lives.
