Description:
ASA's residential Summer Study Program in Nice is a wonderful opportunity any high school student wishing to improve his or her French. Situated along France's fabulous Cote d'Azur, ASA's four-week immersion language program combines academics with daily cultural experience. The French Riviera is the world's foremost cosmopolitan center of art, culture and exclusive summer resorts - the perfect setting for the unique ASA immersion language program. Classes are taught by native speakers from the University of Nice Faculte des Lettres with specialized training in the teaching of French as a second language. Students have the opportunity to select afternoon electives from a range of arts, humanities and language offerings. Designed specifically for students interested in a deeper knowledge of the French language and culture, ASA's summer study program in Nice emphasizes: * active learning that combines classroom study of the French language and its culture with daily life experiences * individualized instruction in small classes * cultural enrichment through independent exploration and planned excursions

ASA's immersion language program in Nice offers daily afternoon and evening activities including swimming, parasailing, volleyball, scuba classes and, the local favorite, petanque. Recreational activities are complemented by cultural outings to the Marc Chagall Museum, the Roman ruins of Cimiez, and the Matisse Museum, among many other choices. In the evenings, the ASA summer study program staff will organize activities such as films, dances, discussion groups, exercise classes, pizza parties, trips to the movies and bowling.
