This ASA Summer Study Program is located in the charming seaside capital of Catalonia, which is known for:

* the stunning architecture of Antoni Gaudi, which helps to give the city it's distinct flavor

As a Spanish language immersion program student, you will improve your language skills and gain an intimate knowledge of Barcelona's history, culture, people and customs. From the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter to the magnificent promenade that leads to the port (Las Ramblas) and the modern shops and cafes of Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona possesses a unique energy and style and is, quite simply, a great place to soak in the language and culture of Spain.

Highlights: Barcelona was the site of the 1992 Olympic Games and has a newly developed port and pristine beaches. While spending your summer in the Residencia Universitaria Sarrią, Barcelona's most sought-after student residence, ASA Spanish immersion language students will:

* enjoy full access to the university's state of the art facilities
* enjoy cultural workshops including Spanish Cinema; Ideas & Cultures of Spain; 20th Century Spanish Art & Architecture; Spanish Literature; International Relations; International Business
* live in air-conditioned, double rooms with private bathrooms; also on-site are a library, theater, computer room, activity lounge and a rooftop swimming pool - the full collegiate experience
* participate in activities at the sports center (next door to the residence hall) including soccer, tennis and swimming
