The Saint Paul preparatory School in Gdansk, Poland, is dedicated to English-speaking students. Our sister school, the Gdansk Autonomous High School (Gdanskie Liceum Autonomiczne, GLA), is a top bilingual private high school in Poland. The school is currently ranked as the number one high school in Gdansk, Poland, and number two in the northern region. International students will be under the supervision of an American certified teacher representing the Nacel International School (USA) while in Poland. History In 1997 the Gdansk Autonomous High School (Gdanskie Liceum Autonomiczne) and Nacel International School established a Sister School agreement formalizing 15 years of cooperation, which started between GLA and Open Door Student Exchange (now Nacel Open Door.) Throughout the 1990s with the help of U.S. federal government funding and private scholarships, many Polish students from GLA participated in the U.S. academic year program, while American high school students studied at GLA. Established in 1989 through the Gdansk Education Foundation, the Gdansk Autonomous High School (GLA) was the first private school in the Gdansk region. The school was given permission to graduate students in its first year of existence. Since its opening, over 800 students have graduated from this prestigious school. 95% of these graduates furthered their studies in a university program either in Poland or abroad Location: Gdansk Gdadsk and several other names, is the sixth-largest city in Poland (population of 458 053 inhabitants in 2006). Situated in the north of the country, it is Poland's principal seaport as well as the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Accommodation: - Host family, full board. - Accommodation is organized in host families speaking Polish and English. Age: From 15 to 18 years old on arrival. Requirements - Students must be interviewed in their home country before being accepted. - A minimum of 2 years of English study (45 SLEP equivalent) and above-average academic results are required.
