China
Term: Summer
Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: Please visit the website
Description:
ThinkChina is a program based in Shanghai designed to bring students (primarily from the U.S.) to China for a unique internship-focused summer experience. The program has been working with some fantastic companies and local organizations in Shanghai to provide students a truly terrific summer experience. In addition to the full-time internships, students will have an opportunity to explore a variety of topics through ThinkChina's series of seminars and workshops. At the same time, students will have a chance to sample the fast-paced life of Shanghai while exploring and learning more about life and culture in China. The selective five-week program looks to attract exceptional high school students who are eager to experience a truly unique summer experience abroad. The rewards are vast: new friends from new places, passion for discovery, education about life and cultures abroad, and truly a trip of a lifetime before students take the next steps in their careers. Please feel free to pass this message along to any teens you may know that are exploring their summer options or anyone that may be interested in the program. For more information, please contact us.
Highlights:
ThinkChina provides an invaluable opportunity for highly motivated secondary school students to explore life and career interests in the hyper-growth environment of China. ThinkChina is open to students ages 16-18. Most participants are rising juniors and seniors, but we will carefully consider other qualified applicants. Our recruitment process aims at bringing a diverse group of students with a variety of abilities, experiences and academic backgrounds to the ThinkChina program.
Qualifications:
Requirements At the core of our admissions, we look for students that exhibit the highest level of preparation and potential to succeed. We expect students to challenge themselves throughout high school. The most important credential that enables us to evaluate your academic record is the high school transcript. However, please know that ThinkChina's evaluation of applicant applications goes beyond any standardized formula. While there is no minimum GPA or test score; we seek students who have achieved academic excellence. Participating in extracurricular activities is not a requirement but gives us a better idea of applicant interests and abilities. Language Skills While basic to intermediate Mandarin skills are helpful, ThinkChina students are not required to speak Mandarin. Candidates with a higher level of Chinese proficiency are eligible for a greater number of internships.
