High School Specific Information We operate short to medium term courses for High School groups. Students study Italian (with certification upon successful completion of the course) and participate in various other classes such as cookery, ceramics, ice cream making and many more. Learn Italian and gain practical work experience in the heart of Italian culture and business while benefiting from a rewarding personal and professional experience. Each program includes intensive Italian language training and internship, all are tailored according to the specific needs and expectations of each respective applicant. Program start dates are generally available each month and on a year round basis. The placement options offer a combination of an intensive Italian Language course with an Internship. Work is based in the hospitality industry in the capacity of sales/marketing, management, public relations, etc. all are based in Sorrento, Italy. Students learn or improve their Italian language skills at Sorrento Lingue International Language Academy during their internship period. We work with a variety of companies that accept our interns, which are sure to provide students with invaluable international work experience and significantly enhance language skills.
Qualifications:
Responsibilities Participate in an intensive group Italian language class and undertake an internship with a company in the hospitality industry. Option 1 (code INT01) Length of Term: 2 Months Location: Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, Surrounding Areas Average Hours per week: * Italian Language Course: 4 hours a day M-F (80 hrs per month) * Internship: 4 hours a day M-F (80 hrs per month) Language Required: No language requirement. Though intermediate level of Italian highly preferred and recommended. Skills Required: A self starter, organizational, willing to learn, attention to detail, communications skills, basic computer skills a plus. Accommodation: In shared apartments (single room) Placement Fees: * Italian Language: Euro 1574 * Internship: Euro 800 * Accommodation: Euro 2026 Total Cost: Euro 4400 Option 2 (code INT02) Length of Term: 4 Months (2 month intensive Italian language courses followed by 2 month internship). Location: Sorrento, The Amalfi Coast, Surrounding Areas. Average Hours per week: * Italian Language Course: 4 hours a day M-F (160 hrs in total) * Internship: 4 hours a day M-F (160 hrs in total). Language Required: Basic knowledge of Italian helpful but not required. Skills Required: Organizational, attention to detail, communications skills, basic computer skills and interest in international business. Once completed and successfully finished the Italian language courses, students will begin their 3-month internship program. This program is ideal for beginners who want to be proficient in the Italian language and gain practical international work experience in a creative, fast-paced environment. Average Hours per week: * Italian Language Course: 4 hours a day M-F (240 hrs in total). * Internship: 4 hours a day M-F (240 hrs in total). Placement Fees: * Italian Language: Euro 2354 * Internship: Euro 1200 * Accommodation: Euro 5280 Total Cost: Euro 8834 Requirements / Certificates Sorrento Lingue offers multiple internship positions for students who want to learn Italian and gain international work experience in Italy. The positions are offered throughout the year and throughout the district of Sorrento. We offer and organize internships in almost all facets of business, such as; in tourism, hospitality, marketing, social services, merchandising, etc. Sorrento Lingue is particularly interested in hearing from students who want to gain experience in marketing, advertising, computer science, and public relations. The internships are offered for a minimum of two months, but a stay of four or more months is preferred. Interns will receive a two-week standard Italian course and will pay a standard processing fee and be required to pay reduced accommodation rates. Requirements * Italian language course of minimum 4 weeks prior to your work experience * Age: minimum 18. * Completed or enrolment in secondary education. * Basic knowledge of Italian by the time your internship starts. * Minimum stay of 10 weeks.
