Description: A Program especially designed for you in at ASLI-Spanish Language Institute.

High School students (ages 13- 17 ) can experience an unforgettable adventure by joining one of our groups for a week or more stay in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Young people will receive the incomparable benefits of an increased fluency in Spanish, as well as the unique experience of participant in Mexican culture. Students aged 16 or 17 may come unaccompanied, but they must be very mature and responsible and adhere to curfew rules set by the school. Under this ages students must be accompanied by an adult relative or guardian who is studying (or not) in the program on the main campus.

The School and Campus:
Classes take place on a special campus, a few blocks away from the main campus. However, classes, may be held on the main campus.

The Course:
Students are grouped into courses according to their Spanish levels. There are five students maximum per group, with conversation classes slightly larger. Classes are six hours per day of group courses, 9am to 3pm, divided into:
    - grammar
    - vocabulary
    - conversation,
    - and field trips with active learning methods.

Young people will receive the incomparable benefits of an increased fluency in Spanish,
as well as the unique experience of participant in Mexican culture.

* Volunteer Position:

For students looking to provide service to the community while practicing their Spanish, we offer a volunteer program where students will interact with the local community in which they are studying. They will provide a valuable service to those in need, all the while practicing what they have learned during their Spanish classes.

This is available for students at all levels of Spanish and is a terrific and fulfilling way of gaining an increased level of Spanish fluency and a true cultural immersion experience.

Highlights: The attractive colonial style facilities are located in a residential area of Cuernavaca, Mexico. Located in the mountains, 1.5 hours away from the capital Mexico City, Cuernavaca is known as the city of "Eternal Spring" due to its 75 degree year round temperature. Fly into Mexico City on a Friday (orientation on Saturday) and depart on a Saturday or Sunday.

Activities:

The regular program of the Institute includes optional excursions during the week and on weekends. Teen students may join these excursions at the regular fees. These excursions average about $25 and are to places such as Taxco and Teotihuacán.

Typical Schedule:

Classes are held 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday, with additional activities during the week and excursions on the weekends with the regular student population of the school. The teen student will have frequent unsupervised or unaccompanied periods of time, when he must operate independently and responsibly.
