Description: AFS offers year, semester and summer programs to destinations throughout Argentina. AFS is currently offering hundreds of scholarships for students flexible with their country choice and ready for an adventure.

AFS (formerly the American Field Service) is a leader in intercultural learning and offers international exchange programs in more than 40 countries around the world. We've been exchanging students throughout the world for 60 years. That is six decades of history and experience in international education with an exemplary record of safety, security, and service to students, parents, and educators. AFS host family placements are located throughout Argentina.

Highlights: Mention Argentina and people think of gauchos, sultry tango dancers, or maybe Evita-but there's more, from first-rate museums, galleries, theaters, and architecture to stunning natural wonders and a variety of landscapes that you will not find anywhere else. Argentina's territorial sweep ranges from Iguazu Falls in the steamy northeastern rainforest, to glacier-topped mountains and penguin colonies in the south, to the world-famous broad and fertile plains of the Pampas. Sophisticated and lively Buenos Aires will keep you moving, whether you find yourself strolling down the Avenida 9 de Julio, one of the widest streets in the world; taking in an opera at the world-renowned Teatro Colon; or sipping mate (a kind of green tea) with friends. You might also take a liking to the country's homegrown rock music, grooving to icons like Charly Garcia, Fito Paez, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and Soda Stereo.

Year and Semester Program:

Students will learn Spanish and day-to-day life by experiencing it first hand. You will attend a local high school and live with a volunteer host family. Upon arrival and after a short few day orientation, you will meet your family and begin your journey experiencing the rich culture of Argentina.

Short summer programs:

Offered in three types: Homestay, Community Service, and Language Study. With all three of these option you will be given the opportunity to live with a host family. For our Homestay students, you will get to explore your host community, through a variety of activities. Community Service students have the chance to experience this new culture, as well as volunteer with local projects to better their host community. Language Intensive students get a chance to hone their Spanish skills through study at a professional language school. Our short summer programs do accept recent high school graduates.
