Description: Global Public Service Academies is a chance for high school students to make a difference right now. Participants spend four weeks working in a developing world hospital or clinic. Mornings are spent learning about medical measurements, language and cultural aspects of health care in resource-poor settings. Afternoons are spent helping people in the hospital, clinic and community.

Highlights: Participants will be able to conduct community health screenings, shadow physicians and other health professionals, help with patient advocacy, conduct research with faculty from noted universities and help in other ways. GPSA is an opportunity for high school students to learn about health care in resource-poor settings and to make a difference - right now!

Qualifications: High school sophomores and juniors are eligible. Some seniors will be accepted. Open to any US citizen. Students should be interested in health careers, such as MD, RN, etc.

    Once a participant arrives on the ground, all expenses are covered, including food, housing, educational materials, research materials, insurance, weekend excursions, home stay expenses, etc.

    Scholarships are Available. We have scholarships ranging up to USD 5,000. We anticipate that a great many of our participants will enjoy the benefits of our financial aid program.
