Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: August 1 - August 10, 2010

Description: Scandinavia combines all the adventure and excitement of an exotic destination with the energy and culture of some of the world's coolest and most cosmopolitan cities. We'll spend our time moving back and forth between pristine wilderness and fast-paced urban living as we spend 10 amazing days in the land of the Midnight Sun.

We begin in Stockholm, Sweden's avant-garde capital. A city built on 14 interconnected islands, Stockholm is a trendsetting place in terms of fashion and culture, home to a great music scene and some of today's most influential fashion. From here, we travel to medieval Gothenberg, where it will seem we've stepped back in time from the modern hum of the city and arrived in a picturesque old town that still gives off the flavor of centuries past.

Then we move across the Baltic Sea basin to Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. We'll have three days to explore the city's canals by boat and soak in the unique nordic seagoing culture that surrounds us. Before we leave, we'll travel outside the city on an excursion to Hamlet's castle at Elsinore, followed by a visit to the famous Viking ships at Roskilde. This is a region like no other, marked by a dramatic landscape, a rich and stirring past, and a vibrant take on the contemporary world. Come experience it with TFT this summer!

Highlights:
- Check out Stockholm's Royal Palace and then take a sea kayak and weave your way around 1000's of islands in the archipelago that surrounds this unique city.
- Stay in a unique floating boat-hotel in Stockholm's famous harbor.
- Admire the banquet hall where the Nobel Prize is awarded and then walk down the same hallway as the Nobel Laureates.
- Bike through the Bohemian neighborhoods of Gothenburg and then see the Stadsmuseum, home of Sweden's only original Viking ship.
- Take a boat tour through the canals of beautiful Copenhagen.
- Visit the Rosenborg Slot, the castle and home of the Danish Royal Treasury and Crown jewels, the oldest monarchy in all of Europe.
- See the original manuscripts of Hans Christian Anderson in the Royal Library.
- Journey up to Zealand to see Hamlet's castle at Elsinore and the Viking ships of Roskilde.

Travel For Teens's Mission Statement: Travel for Teens believes that teen travel should be both fun and enriching. Our programs feature choice in what you do, see, and experience, a dynamic that sets us apart from superficial tours that herd large groups from one site to another. We visit the best of the mainstream attractions while offering the opportunity to explore the culture from a less touristy perspective. We interact with our host cultures, taking cooking and dance lessons, performing valuable service work to help local communities, and conversing with the people who have spent their lives living in the places we journey to. We have crafted our unique programs to engender love for travel, hunger for learning, curiosity about differences, appreciation of similarities across cultures, and an understanding of what it means to be a global citizen.
