Summer Build - Homes for Orphaned Children in Haiti

Description: REACH is offering High School Seniors, College Students and extended family Service Learning and Leadership Opportunities in which they are able to participate in the development, funding and construction of homes for orphan children and a medical clinic for PWOJE ESPWA SUD orphanage in Les Cayes, Haiti. Students spend the school year raising funds necessary to support the project, raise community awareness about the plight of orphaned children in Haiti and then set aside time over the summer to travel to assist the community in the construction of the project.

Summer Build - Homes for Orphaned Children in Haiti

Highlights: Volunteers will work, eat, rest and play at the ESPWA village which is incorporated on 140 acres of farmland 15 minutes from Les Cayes, Haiti. Volunteers will stay in the ESPWA Quad, which comfortably provides showers and toilets while resting with 2-person secure bedrooms. ESPWA staff provides both Creole and Western style meals. Students who have special talents and gifts can volunteer to instruct/lead a project for any and all age groups. A Catholic mass is offered once a day and varies in French, Creole and English.

Degree Level: Bachelors Degree (Undergraduate)

Qualifications: REACH is supporting PWOJE ESPWA SUD in Les Cayes, Haiti in the construction of 10 new homes to house 680+ orphaned children and staff. REACH is looking for volunteers to travel to help build these new homes. Volunteers are required to raise a minimum of 2,000 USD to qualify to participate. 100% of the funds are used to cover the construction costs of the homes. Volunteers do not need construction experience but must be 17 years old. Family members are invited to attend.
